Kindergartens and schools

Learning / Kindergartens and schools

Guided tours of the former monastery, permanent and temporary exhibitions and the Forma Viva Sculpture Park are combined with various workshops where participants learn about the themes of the artworks and get to know different artistic techniques. For schools, we also organize full-day programmes with a combination of different activities or in-depth art workshops where artists join as mentors.

For kindergarten and first triad, we deepen our knowledge of colours through monotype, explore the motif of landscape, create our own Forma viva or learn about the legend of the monastery’s origins.

With the second and third triad, we learn about and recreate monastic architecture, build our own Forma Viva, learn about the rules of a profile in sculpture and try our hand at drypoint, where we think about heroes like Marin Krpan and what an attribute is. The guided tours for the third triad can also be enriched by the analysis of an artwork (workshop What You See, What I See), where students work in groups to independently explore the formal and contextual qualities of a selected work.

In cooperation with the TIC Kostanjevica na Krki, the programme can also be combined with other activities in Kostanjevica na Krki (visits to the Kostanjevica Cave or the town on the island, activities on the River Krka, etc.).
