Negovan Nemec was born in 1947 in Bilje near Nova Gorica, Slovenia. He graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in the class of professor Slavko Tihec. Since 1971 he made numerous public sculptures while also being engaged with graphic and industrial design. He died in 1987 in Ljubljana. In 1991, comprehensive monograph of his work was published. In his hometown there is a permanent exhibition of his works.
