Guided tour of the exhibition:

“Distant Gaze: New Objectivity and Realisms in Central Europe (1925-1933)”

Saturday, 15 February 2025, at 3pm

The guided tour will be conducted by the curator Deja Bečaj (in Slovenian language).

*English language guided tours are also available with prior agreement.

The exhibition focuses on the historical period of the 1920s and 1930s, when the new tendencies of the modern era came to dominate the fields of arts and culture. In the visual arts, there emerged the style of new realism whose objective, resigned and often ironic expression was a direct reflection of the turbulent spirit of the era. The exhibition offers an insight into artistic production in the period 1925-1933, within the wider cultural milieu of Central Europe, and an opportunity to analyse the sociopolitical processes of the time through art, which always mirrors the Zeitgeist.
