Doru Corvig was born in 1942 in Timis, Romania. He studied at the Pedagogical Institute of Fine Arts and at the Institute of Fine Arts Nicolae Grigorescu in Bucharest. He lived and worked in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France, for more than twenty years, but after the fall of socialist regime in 1990, he returned to his homeland. In 1995 he represented Romania at 46th Venice Biennial.
