Bogdan Borčić: 5th Exhibition in the Graphic Cabinet
01. 12. 2007 – 28. 09. 2008
5th Exhibition in the Graphic Cabinet of Bogdan Borčić
The Prešeren Day, Slovenian Cultural Holiday, organised by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, has grown over the past few years into the most massive one-day cultural event in Slovenia. According to reports from the organisers, last year it was attended by 21 000 visitors. On Saturday, 1 December 2007, we opened the fifth installation of prints from the donation of Bogdan Borčić in the Borčić Graphic Cabinet of the Božidar Jakac Gallery as part of this manifestation. Borčić, a painter, graphic artist and pedagogue, who has forever marked the Slovene space with his prints, has chosen the prints himself, which will be on display in his cabinet for one year. Since we are trying to follow the chronological presentation of his entire oeuvre, Borčić, after the series from the Signs series, has this time concentrated mainly on works dating back to 1984 and 1985, with a few accents towards 1990, which hint at what awaits us next year. I should mention that this time we have equipped the prints to the highest museum standards in house, with the technical assistance of painter and printmaker Janko Orač, thus confirming the high standard that we have been following conscientiously and professionally for all these years.
