Laurence Whitfield was born in 1938 in Manchester, UK. In 1959 he attended the Manchester School of Arts and later (1960) The Slade Academy of Arts in London. He thought at many academies, i.e. Bath Academy of Art, Corsham and Newport College of Art, The University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA, L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Le Mans and The Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Gujarat, India. In 2005 he moved to Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
