International Museum Day

Date: 18. 05. 2025
Time: 10:00

On International Museum Day, entry to the GBJ is free all day. You are very welcome to visit us between 10 am and 6 pm!

As part of International Museum Day, you are invited to the following free events:

10.00-12.00 / Waiting for Forma Viva
An intergenerational workshop

For the upcoming 30th Forma Viva Symposium, we will be creating scaled-down sculptures from found materials in a workshop inspired by the plans for the statues that will join the park in July.

16.00-17.00 / Ever wondered what grows under your feet?
An exploratory walk with Tjaša Hribar.

Join us on a field exploration walk where together we will learn about the diverse and often overlooked world of grassland plants. On this relaxed walk, we will observe the grassland in all its diversity – from delicate blades and colourful flowers to hardy plants that thrive in the harshest conditions. We’ll learn to identify some of the characteristic species, learn about their adaptations and discover why grasslands are vital for nature and people.
The walk is suitable for all ages – for curious beginners, nature lovers and those who simply want to spend time in the fresh air.

What do you need?
Comfortable shoes, curiosity, open eyes and a mobile phone to take photos or search for plants with an app. Let technology help you explore nature.

17.00 / Opening of the exhibition bythe participants of the printmaking workshop
Mentors: Nataša Mirtič and Jožica Medle. The event is co-organised with JSKD OI Krško.
