Guided Tour: Hidden Corners of the Former Cistercian Monastery

We will embark on a journey to discover the hidden corners of the former Cistercian monastery, which has been home to Galerija Božidar Jakac since 1974.

Founded in the 13th century, the former monastery represents an exceptional example of medieval monastic architecture. Over the centuries, it has been expanded, transformed, and adapted to new social and cultural functions. Today, the complex lives on as a vital artistic and exhibition center where heritage, contemporary art, and museum activities intertwine.

The renovation of the former monastery complex has been carried out successively since the 1950s, with further restoration work soon to continue under the Natura 2000 framework.

This event is part of the Open House Slovenia Festival (OHS).
