Goran Milovanović: “The Artistic Journey of Bogdan Borčić”

In his talk, Milovanović will focus on the life and artistic development of Bogdan Borčić, as well as the key milestones in his artistic career. He would have celebrated his 100th birthday on 26 September 2026. Borčić’s body of work will be presented in the context of the time and place in which it was created, with an emphasis on his relationship to printmaking, its language, and its possibilities.

Goran Milovanović is the director of Galerija Božidar Jakac – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Kostanjevica na Krki.

*To mark the 100th anniversary of Bogdan Borčić’s birth, GalerijaBožidar Jakac is organizing a series of three lectures dedicated to the development of printmaking in Slovenia. The lectures will be accompanied by art workshops.

Before the lecture the printmaking workshop “Along Borčić’s Footsteps” (mentor: Janko Orač) will take place

The workshop draws inspiration from the artistic universe of Bogdan Borčić, particularly his series Simple Things. Through an exploration of form, symbol, texture and material, the participants will investigate the possibilities of the graphic medium using various materials, layering and printing techniques.
