Jaka Babnik and Miha Colner are organising a bike ride from Ljubljana to Galerija Božidar Jakac – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Kostanjevica na Krki, where the viewing and a guided tour of the exhibition by Jaka Babnik: A Matter of View.
The guided tour of the exhibition “A Matter of View” with the artist Jaka Babnik and curator Miha Colner is scheduled for 5pm in the Grand Gallery of Galerija Božidar Jakac.
Route description:
Route: Ljubljana – Šmartno pri Litiji – Radeče – Krško – Kostanjevica na Krki
Difficulty: 127 km + 1,300 meters of elevation gain
Estimated travel time: 5–7 hours
Return to Ljubljana is possible by train from the Krško train station.

About the exhibition:
The exhibition A Matter of View showcases a mid-career retrospective of photographer and artist Jaka Babnik, who in the past nearly twenty years, roughly in the period 2007-2026, made and publicly presented number of impactful pieces, both in the form of an exhibition and a photobook. In his artistic practice, he analyses a wide variety of contemporary social and societal phenomena through images. His central creative process is to observe and document changes in the cultural landscape of his immediate surroundings, which are always conditioned by complex historical, social, and political circumstances. The range of phenomena that he addresses in his works is diverse and reflects his profound interest in the general state of mind within contemporary society, which is faced with numerous internal paradoxes and imbalances.
*Galerija Božidar Jakac is strongly emphasising sustainability, as its location offers ideal opportunities to reflect on this topical issue. Through a campaign encouraging the use of bicycles or public transportation, it aims to encourage reflection on sustainable ways of visiting the museum. Visitors who arrive to the museum by bicycle receive a 20% discount on the regular ticket price.
