Ulrike Birkhoff was born in 1947 in Büdingen, Germany. She studied Sculpture at College of Arts in Berlin. After graduation she turned her interest to music and studied classic Indian percussion in Kalkutta. In 1983-1984 she was a lecturer at the Institute for Design in Berlin. She is engaged in sculpture and drawing and has authored many public sculptors. She lives and works in Marrakesh, Morocco, and Berlin, Germany.
