In 1961 he graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, in the class of professor Karel Putrih. In 1965 he completed postgraduate studies in the class of professor Boris Kalin. In 1967 he participated in the Forma Viva symposium in Maribor. During the last couple of decades, he focused his attention to painting and made a series of paintings entitled Soil – as painting medium he used soil from Barje swamp. In 1977 he received award of the Prešeren Fund. He died in 2011.
