He graduated in 2002 and received his masters’ degree from the Department of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. During his studies, he also undertook further course at the University of Pennsylvania (IUP), USA. The basic form that has recognisably marked Pugelj‘s work in recent years is a stylised human face, represented in the form of a mask. He makes masks in various sizes, materials and techniques (concrete, iron, polyurethane, graphite, wood), depending on the context of the work. He lives and works in Vnanje Gorice, Slovenia.
