Ratko Petrić was born in 1941 in Zadar, Croatia. In 1966 he graduated at Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He was one of the founders of the Salon of Young Artists (1968) and Biafra Atelier. He was a professor at Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, from which he retired in 2006. In 2007, comprehensive monograph about his work was published and in 2021 his retrospective was held in Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb. Many of his works are in the collection of the Murska Sobota Gallery. He died in 2010.
