Datum razstave:
Péter Gálhidy (1974) is a visual artist working with sculpture and spatial installations. He graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1999, where he has been teaching since 2001, and is currently the Head of the Sculpture Department there. His artistic practice usually uses organic, natural materials, while his conceptual focus is on interpreting questions of space, matter and natural balance. He lives and works in Budapest.
Péter Gálhidy’s composite sculpture reproduces the organic natural forms of blades of grass, which the artist presents in a characteristic monumental light. In his artistic practice, Gálhidy often traces the amorphous forms of vegetation, reflecting his search for links (and gaps) between natural habitats and anthropogenic structures. His sculpture, which refers to the rural area of the Krka valley, simultaneously demonstrates a sensitivity to natural habitats and to the environmental challenges of the modern age.
