The Permanent Collection of
Zoran Didek
Self-portrait - detail

Zoran Didek (1910-1975) comes from Podbocje. He studied painting at the Zagreb Academy. He was an important art theorist, confugurist, and pedagogue at Ljubljana High School and at the Ljubljana Acadamey of Fine Arts. During his lifetime his work was rarely exhibited. In Kostanjevica's permenant collection he is represented with paintings and drawings, which are distinguished by distinct designer's line. Motifs of his creations are not only selfportraits, portraits, still lifes but above all landscape, which is in his pre-war period, realistic and typical of Lower Carniola and green. Later in analytical research, his work moves towards abstraction. The exhibition has been on view since 1995.
